Connect Whop to Fondoo
If you run a community on Whop, this connection lets your AI agent post updates to a Whop forum. Posts go out through Upload-Post, the posting service Fondoo already uses for social networks. You give Fondoo a Whop API key that can create forum posts, plus the ID of the forum to post in. Fondoo does not read your Whop sales, members or payments.
What Fondoo can do with it
- Post text to one Whop forum. Up to 20,000 characters per post, text only (no images or video).
- Add a title. The owner can set an optional
whop_titleon the Whop account withconfigure_social_account({siteId, accountId, settings:{whop_title:"..."}}). Without it, Upload-Post falls back to its normal title field, which Fondoo fills with the post text (Upload-Post text posts). - Schedule and cancel. Use the normal social tools:
draft_social_posts,schedule_social_posts,get_social_calendar,cancel_post. A post can be cancelled while it is still scheduled. - No stats. Whop posts don't report views or likes back to Fondoo.
What needs your approval: by default every Whop post waits in the owner approval queue (approve_social_posts). The default approval rule for a network is review. You can switch Whop to auto with update_distribution_rules once you trust the agent's posts. Connecting the Whop credentials is an owner-only action.
Before you start
- A Whop business (company) with at least one forum. In Whop each forum is its own "experience" with an ID that starts with
exp_(forums guide). - Permission to create API keys for that business.
- A Fondoo site with a social set. Each site includes one social set. Extra sets cost extra on your Fondoo plan.
- No Whop fee is needed for API access.
Step by step: get your credentials
1. Create a Whop API key (getting started):
- Go to whop.com/dashboard and choose your business.
- Open the developer dashboard and find Account API Keys.
- Click Create.
- Instead of the full Admin role, pick a custom set of permissions. Tick
forum:post:create, which lets the key create forum posts (create forum post). Also tickforum:readif you want to look up the forum ID with the API (next part). - Copy the key when Whop shows it. Store it in your password manager.
2. Find the forum's experience ID:
- Whop's docs don't say where the dashboard shows this ID.
- The documented way is the List forums API:
GET https://api.whop.com/api/v1/forums?account_id=<your biz_ ID>with your key. It needsforum:read. Each forum in the reply has anexperience.idlikeexp_XXXXXXXX(list forums). - To post to your company's public forum instead, Whop accepts
publicas the experience ID together with your account ID. Fondoo only sends the experience ID, so use a specificexp_forum.
What goes where:
| Upload-Post credential field | What to paste |
|---|---|
api_key | the Whop API key |
experience_id | the exp_... forum ID |
name | optional label, for example Members forum |
Connect it in Fondoo
There is no Whop form in the Fondoo dashboard yet. You connect Whop in three calls. The middle one carries your key, so the owner should run it, ideally over REST from your own machine, not in a chat.
By asking your agent
Example prompt:
Set up Whop posting for my site. Create the social connection, and I'll add the Whop key myself.
- The agent creates (or reuses) the site's Upload-Post connection:
It returns aconnect_social({ siteId: "<site id>", provider: "upload_post", network: "whop", redirectUrl: "https://<your page to return to>" })connectionId, plus a link to Upload-Post's connection page. - The owner adds the Whop credentials:
Fondoo sends the credentials straight to Upload-Post and never returns them.POST https://api.getfondoo.com/v1/ops/configure_upload_post_platform Authorization: Bearer <your Fondoo owner API key> Content-Type: application/json {"siteId":"<site id>","connectionId":"<connectionId>","network":"whop", "credential":{"api_key":"<Whop key>","experience_id":"exp_...","name":"Members forum"}} - The agent refreshes the account list:
refresh_social_accounts({siteId, connectionId}). Whop should now appear inlist_social_accounts.
connect_service({provider:"whop", siteId}) returns a signed help link valid for 15 minutes. add_connection_key and test_connection are not used for Whop, because the key is stored by Upload-Post, not in Fondoo's connection vault.
Test that it works
- Check that
list_social_accounts({siteId})lists a Whop account. - Ask your agent: "Draft a short test post for my Whop forum and schedule it for 10 minutes from now." Approve it in the approval queue.
- Check the forum in Whop.
get_postshows the post's status. Once published, it also shows a link. - If it failed, see Troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting
- "Invalid platform credentials". Both
api_keyandexperience_idare required, and onlyapi_key,experience_idandnameare allowed. Remove any other fields. - Whop doesn't appear after refresh. Upload-Post rejected the credentials. Check the key has
forum:post:createand the experience ID is a forum (exp_...) in the same business. - Post fails with a permission error. The key lacks
forum:post:create, or the forum belongs to another business. Create a new key with the right permission and runconfigure_upload_post_platformagain. - "Upload-Post profile limit reached". Your plan's social sets are used up. Reuse an existing set or add one.
- Post too long. The limit is 20,000 characters, text only. Split long updates or link to a page on your site.
- 429 rate_limit_exceeded. Whop allows 600 requests per minute per operation per key (troubleshooting). Normal posting stays far below this.
Limits, data and security
- What is stored where: the Whop key and experience ID are stored by Upload-Post, under your site's Upload-Post profile. Fondoo does not keep a copy and never returns them. Fondoo stores your posts, their schedule and status.
- Rotate: create a new key in Whop, run
configure_upload_post_platformagain with it, then delete the old key in Whop. - Disconnect: delete the API key in Whop. This stops all posting at once. Fondoo has no operation that removes the stored Whop credentials from Upload-Post, so deleting the key is what cuts access. Cancel any scheduled posts with
cancel_post.
