Connect WooCommerce to Fondoo
This connection lets your AI agent work in your WooCommerce store on WordPress. It can read and edit products, orders, customers and coupons. It can also add supplier products as drafts and send store orders to a dropshipping or print-on-demand supplier. You create a REST API key in WooCommerce and give Fondoo the key, the secret and your store's address.
What Fondoo can do with it
Fondoo uses the WooCommerce REST API (/wp-json/wc/v3). Actions, used through connector_action:
- Read:
store.info(store currency), andlist/getforproducts,orders,customers,couponsandwebhooks. Lists acceptper_page,page,search,sku,statusandafter. - Write:
create/updatefor products, customers, coupons and webhooks, andorders.update. - Destructive (owner approval for agents):
products.delete,orders.delete,customers.delete,coupons.delete,webhooks.delete. Fondoo sends these withforce=false, so items that support it go to the trash rather than being deleted for good. - Money (owner approval for agents):
orders.create.
Fondoo also uses this connection in its commerce tools:
list_store_products: read your products page by page.import_supplier_product: create a draft simple product from a CJ, Printful, Printify or Gelato item, priced from cost, shipping and your margin. The store currency must be USD.sync_inventory: copy CJ stock to the imported product (turns on stock management).route_order_to_supplier: send a real store order to a supplier. This always needs the owner's approval.
Before you start
- WordPress with WooCommerce 3.5 or later (WordPress 4.4 or later) (REST API docs).
- HTTPS. Fondoo only connects over
https://, because the key is sent with Basic authentication. - Pretty permalinks. In WordPress, Settings → Permalinks must be anything except Plain. Day and name works (WooCommerce REST API guide).
- A WordPress user with store rights. The key acts with that user's roles and capabilities. Use an Administrator or Shop Manager account.
- No WooCommerce fee for API access.
Step by step: get your credentials
- Sign in to your WordPress admin.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- Click Create an API key (or Add key if you already have some).
- In Key Details:
- Description:
Fondoo. - User: the store manager account the key should act as.
- Permissions: Read/Write. Fondoo needs write access to create and update products and orders. Choose Read only if you just want reports, and expect writes to fail.
- Description:
- Click Generate API Key.
- Copy the Consumer key (starts with
ck_) and Consumer secret (starts withcs_). WooCommerce shows the secret only once.
What goes where:
| Fondoo field | What to paste |
|---|---|
siteUrl | your store's address, for example https://shop.example.com (no /wp-json) |
consumerKey | the ck_... key |
consumerSecret | the cs_... secret |
Connect it in Fondoo
In the dashboard
- Open Connections.
- Under Available, find WooCommerce (in the Stores group) and click Use a key.
- Click Open secure key entry (single use, expires after 15 minutes). Fill in the three fields and save.
- Click Check connection on the new card.
By asking your agent
Example prompt:
Connect my WooCommerce store at https://shop.example.com. Send me a secure link for the API key, then list my products.
The agent calls:
add_connection_key({ provider: "woocommerce", siteId: "<site id>" }) // secure paste link
test_connection({ connectionId: "<id>" })
list_store_products({ connectionId: "<id>" })For a help link only: connect_service({provider:"woocommerce", siteId}) (signed, valid 15 minutes).
Over REST: POST https://api.getfondoo.com/v1/ops/add_connection_key with Authorization: Bearer <your Fondoo API key> and {"provider":"woocommerce","siteId":"<site id>"}. Then /v1/ops/test_connection and /v1/ops/connector_action the same way.
Webhooks
You don't need webhooks for Fondoo. If you want WooCommerce to notify one of your own endpoints, the agent can create a WooCommerce webhook with webhooks.create and your URL. WooCommerce signs those deliveries for your endpoint to check. Fondoo does not receive them.
Test that it works
- Run
test_connection(or Check connection). It reads one product. A pass confirmsproducts.list. Other actions show as "unknown" until used. - Ask: "What currency is my store in?" (
store.info). - Ask the agent to create a draft test product (
products.createwithstatus: "draft"), then delete it (it goes to the trash).
Troubleshooting
- 401 "Your API keys or signature is wrong". Check the key and secret, and that the key's user still exists and has store rights. Deleting the WordPress user disables the key. Generate a new key if unsure.
- 404 on every request. Permalinks are set to Plain, or
siteUrlis wrong (includehttps://, no/wp-json). Change permalinks to Day and name. - "Consumer key is missing" or 401 although the key is right. Some hosts strip the
Authorizationheader (often with FastCGI) (authentication). Ask your host to pass the header through. Fondoo does not send keys in the URL. - Writes fail but reads work. The key has Read permission only. Create a Read/Write key and run
rotate_connection_key. - Deleting a customer or webhook fails. WooCommerce can't trash these, only delete them for good, and Fondoo only sends trash requests. Delete them in WordPress instead.
- Rate limits or 429s. The WooCommerce REST API has no documented rate limit, but your host or security plugin may add one. Fondoo keeps to 60 actions per minute.
Limits, data and security
- What Fondoo stores: the consumer key and secret, encrypted, never shown again. The store URL is stored as a plain identifier. Store data is read when needed. Fondoo keeps product and order IDs only for supplier imports and routed orders.
- Rotate: create a new key in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API, run
rotate_connection_key({connectionId})with it, then click Revoke on the old key. - Disconnect:
delete_connection({connectionId})removes the stored key (owner approval for agents). Then revoke the key in WooCommerce. Fondoo can't revoke it for you.
