Connect Keepa to Fondoo
Keepa tracks Amazon price and sales-rank history. Connecting your Keepa API key lets your AI agent pull price history and sales-rank data for specific Amazon products (by ASIN) during product research. This connector is read-only: it never buys, lists or changes anything on Amazon.
What Fondoo can do with it
The connector has one action:
| Action | What it does | Keepa call |
|---|---|---|
products.history (read) | Price and sales-rank history plus 90-day statistics for up to 10 exact ASINs at once | GET /product?domain=…&asin=…&history=1&stats=90 |
You can use it in two ways:
- Directly:
connector_action({connectionId, action:"products.history", input:{asin:"B0XXXXXXXX", domain:1}}).asinis one ASIN or a comma-separated list of up to ten, using exactly 10 capital letters or digits each.domainselects the Amazon marketplace (see below) and defaults to 1 (amazon.com). - In product research:
find_products({query, supplierConnectionId, dataConnectionId, keepaConnectionId, asin})adds Keepa history for one ASIN you supply on amazon.com. Fondoo never guesses which Amazon product matches a supplier product.
How to read the data (product object):
- Prices are integers in the marketplace's smallest currency unit. 4999 on amazon.com means $49.99. On amazon.co.jp, 4900 means ¥4,900.
- -1 means "no data" for that interval, for example out of stock. Fondoo keeps it as missing and never treats it as a zero price.
- Times are in "Keepa minutes". Unix seconds = (Keepa time + 21564000) × 60.
No action needs owner approval, because nothing is written. Agents need Fondoo's commerce:read scope.
Amazon marketplace (domain) IDs: 1 .com, 2 .co.uk, 3 .de, 4 .fr, 5 .co.jp, 6 .ca, 8 .it, 9 .es, 10 .in, 11 .com.mx, 12 .com.br. There is no 7 (product request).
Before you start
- A paid Keepa API subscription. This is separate from a Keepa browser-extension subscription. Plans differ by how many tokens you get per minute, and are billed monthly in advance by card (plans and tokens). Check current prices at https://keepa.com/#!api ; they could not be confirmed for this guide.
- How tokens are spent:
- Each product in a request costs 1 token, even if the ASIN does not exist.
- Fondoo's
historyandstatsoptions add no extra token cost. - Unused tokens expire after 60 minutes.
- A Fondoo site to attach the connection to.
Step by step: get your credentials
- Sign in at https://keepa.com and open the API page: https://keepa.com/#!api .
- Subscribe to an API plan if you have not already.
- On the same page, find your private API access key. This page also shows your API status, lets you manage the subscription, and lets you generate a new key (API docs).
- Copy the key.
Keepa keys have no permission scopes. Anyone with the key can spend your tokens, so keep it private.
Connect it in Fondoo
In the dashboard:
- Open Connections → Available → Research → Keepa → Use a key → Open secure key entry.
- Paste the key into
apiKeyand click Save connection securely. The link lasts 15 minutes and works once. - Click Check connection on the Keepa card.
By asking your agent. For example:
"Connect my Keepa API key and show the 90-day price history for ASIN B0XXXXXXXX."
The agent calls add_connection_key({provider:"keepa", siteId}) without fields and sends you the secure link. Keys placed in fields trigger a chat-log warning, so do not paste the key into chat. connect_service({provider:"keepa", siteId}) returns a signed 15-minute instruction link. Afterwards the agent runs test_connection({connectionId}).
REST: POST https://api.getfondoo.com/v1/ops/add_connection_key with Authorization: Bearer <your Fondoo key> and {"provider":"keepa","siteId":"<site UUID>"}.
Test that it works
test_connectioncalls Keepa's/tokenendpoint. Statusconnectedmeans the key is valid. It does not spend product tokens.- Ask your agent for the history of one ASIN you know. The answer should include price arrays and sales ranks. Every Keepa response also reports
tokensLeft.
Troubleshooting
- Status
invalidor "Provider request failed (402)". Keepa says "The used API key does not grant access". The key is wrong, regenerated, or the subscription has ended. - "Provider request failed (429)". You are out of tokens. Keepa runs a request as long as your balance is positive when it starts, so the balance can go negative. Wait for tokens to refill, or upgrade your plan (request basics).
- "Supply up to ten exact ASINs". Fondoo accepts only 10-character ASINs in capitals, up to ten, separated by commas with no spaces.
- "Provider request failed (405)". A parameter is out of range, usually an invalid
domain. - Prices look 100 times too high. They are in cents. Divide by 100 for USD, EUR or GBP, but not for JPY.
- "Connector rate budget exhausted". Fondoo allows about 60 actions per minute per connection.
Limits, data and security
- What Fondoo stores: the encrypted key, status, last test and last use.
list_connectionsshows[redacted]. Keepa results go back to the caller, and are not stored as price records. - Keepa authenticates with the key in the request address. Fondoo only sends it to
api.keepa.comover HTTPS. - Rotate: generate a new key on the Keepa API page. This invalidates the old one. Then call
rotate_connection_key({connectionId})without fields and paste it. - Disconnect:
delete_connection({connectionId})removes the key from Fondoo. Agents need your approval. Generate a new key in Keepa if you want the old one to stop working.
